JOIN Grayhawk Yoga and Mari Carli for a free class celebrating the Spring Equinox by candlelight and helping our homeless animals and pets by donating anything you can to help. Make a prayer mala with your body by doing 108 Sun Salutations and donate items to a good cause. Be carried by the group energy to create positive change. 108 Surya Namaskar traditional Sun Salutations (you can also meditate, stretch or be still during any of the four rounds of 27 salutations). A mala is 108 beads strung together on a prayer necklace for the repetition of mantra. In a yoga mala, your body forms the prayer, the 108 sun salutations represent the 108 beads and your breath represents the string holding the mala together. It is traditional to make a wish or set a particular sankalpa (intention) for your mala, the tapas (heat and austerity) of your practice represents the fire that devours impurities and obstacles. This is a wonderful chance to experience a yoga tradition. BEGINNERS WELCOME!

Bryan Kest started practicing yoga 26 years ago with David Williams who was the first person to bring Ashtanga Yoga to America. From his Ashtanga roots, Bryan devised his own dynamic style calling it Power Yoga. Introduction to Meditation Workshop with Ralph Miller

 Ralph Miller has been practicing meditation for over 10 years. In this short course on meditation, Ralph will review seven guidelines for meditation, including answers to the most common questions like how to sit comfortably, the best time to meditate, how long to meditate and where to meditate. He'll also share tried and tested techniques that are simple to do, you can practice at home, and will allow you to instantly experience meditation. At the end of the session, students will receive a copy of Ralph's meditation guide, a 10 minute Yoga for meditators DVD, and a cd with guided meditation audios.
